Pretoria loves the beginning of the summer and with this year’s spring the capital of South Africa created a spin on the famous and highly celebrated American show “Amazing Race”, with its own “Tshwamazing Race.” With the second time organizing this exciting two-day race, four teams of students from various tertiary institutions throughout the city had the opportunity to run for the title.
In conjunction with Pretoria’s awareness campaign “Love our spring in Tshwane” the race focused on finding and presenting cultural and historical highlights in and around Pretoria. All four teams had two days to find different hints that were hidden at diverse attractions within the metro area of Tshwane. Some of the places visited during the race were the famous Voortrekker Monument, the Freedom Park, the Dinokeng Game Reserve and the Chinese Buddhist Temple of Bronkhorstspruit.
The Vivere Country House was one of the proud sponsors and hosts during the Tshwamazing Race and initiated the first day of the race. All four teams gathered at our Country House and Conference Venue in the East of Pretoria to kick-off the fun and highly successful event.
Finally after two days of exercise and treasure hunting the blue team from the Open Window School of Visual Communication arrived first at the final destination in Centurion after racing around the capital with three other competitor teams.
